Safe migration
Travel safely. Work with confidence.
Working abroad should change your life for the better. These checks protect you, whichever agency you choose.
-
Use licensed agencies only
Work only with SLBFE-licensed agencies. Ours are nos. 833, 2898, 864 and 3368 — you can verify any licence with the SLBFE.
-
Register with the SLBFE
Registration before you leave is required by law and connects you to SLBFE welfare and insurance schemes.
-
Understand your contract
Check salary, hours, contract length, accommodation and leave before you sign.
-
Protect your passport
Never hand it to unlicensed sub-agents. Keep copies and get a receipt for any payment.
-
Keep your family informed
Share your employer’s name, address and phone number before you travel.
-
Know where to get help
Save the SLBFE hotline (1989) and your destination’s Sri Lankan embassy contacts.
